Thank you for the new homes of Yolanda survivors

Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) is said to be the worst disaster that struck the country affecting millions of people, leaving 6,190 people dead, 1.1 million houses damaged and significant loss of livelihoods especially on agriculture and fisheries.

One year after, while there remains a lot of challenges and unmet needs of the survivors, but through the "Bayanihan" spirit of Filipinos joined by the international community, a lot of fruits of the partnership efforts are also being celebrated by many survivors and affected communities.

"Yolanda is like a blessing in disguise for us because we now have a nice new home and much stronger house structure than before, and we really are so thankful to EcoWEB, MCC and all donors who gave us new hope after the most horrifying disaster struck our community," says Mrs. Cresencia Roa, a single mother of her 10 children and one of the 41 beneficiaries of the Bala'i shelter project of EcoWEB in Barangays Batug and Alegre, in the municipality of Dulag, Leyte.

Thank yu Kind-hearted Donors to Yolanda and Earthquake Survivors


In November-December 2013, EcoWEB has able to start its Disaster Response in the Visayas thru the kind support from local and international donors. EcoWEB is thankful that it became an instrument of becoming a bridge between kind-hearted people and the disaster survivors needing their help. The magnitude of the impact of Yolanda (Haiyan) and the earthquake that both devastated the Visayas islands in the last quarter of 2013 just draw the attention and help from all corners of the world. EcoWEB is happy to be able to contribute its share through the kind support of partners and donors.
